Hike

Oops! I had updated the blog last week but hadn't hit publish. You'll see a post below this one too:-)  Today we went on a lovely walk in the Oregon mountains with Alice, Mary and Ted :-)

Oops late post!

Back to Oregon! :-)  Hello everyone:-) We have been staying with Alice (Theo's Aunty) in Davis, California. Yesterday we ventured on the Amtrak train to San Francisco, caught a bus to Fishermans Wharf and a ferry to Alcatraz!  Alcatraz was pretty awesome. I will upload some pictures and information later when I can. I am currently in the car with little reception as we are off to Oregon again to visit the winery and Ted and Mary. Last time we were there we had little reception but could get wifi at the winery so I will do some updating when I can:-) Mum I'll send you Ted and Mary's home phone number:-)  Grace xxx

DISNEYLAND

:-)

I write this as we settle down for the night on our surprisingly still comfy air bed, in the back of our van. With only 6 nights left in here we are feeling somewhat relieved and sad at the same time. We've had some real adventures in this thing.  New Mexico has been and gone! A very quick visit, yet still very well worth the visit. It was fascinating seeing the different architectural styles. We arrived late, and found a spot in the forrest to sleep. What a lovely spot to wake up to!  We visited a small wildlife zoo in Albuquerque. This was really awesome as it is the only zoo in the world that has been built up by volunteer youth. They save animals that have been hurt or illegally taken from the wild, and that wouldn't survive back in the wild. It was a small place, but we were able to see a black bear, two baby mountain lions, coyote, wolves, alc and lots of birds with broken wings :-(  We drove right through Arizona to San Diego in California. Here we visited La Jolla...

On our way to New Mexico

Hey! We have enjoyed our time in Boulder, Colorado. We spent yesterday in a small old gold mine town called Cripple Creek. Colorado has a lot of these small pioneer towns that are really interesting. Currently, we are on our way to New Mexico! We are running out of time now as we want to take our time once we get to the pacific highway in California. So our trips will be short and sweet :-)  Grace x

Update!

Utah has been and gone. Our last stop was Bryce Canyon National Park. We weren't expecting too much from this smaller park..boy were we wrong! This may be one of our favourites. We only spent one day here before driving nine hours to Colorado:-) We spent a night in Georgetown, Colorado. Then headed for the mountain the next day. Pretty cool that it was still open at this time of the year! We were lucky. We are now in Boulder, Colorado. This is the town where Theo's parents met :-) so it has been cool to check it out. We like it here. It's very busy currently, with all the University of Colorado students graduating. We hiked up to the Flatirons today. These are large flat rock formations.  Tomorrow, I plan to check out some of the shopping here..(window shopping of course!!) We made dinner next to the river lastnight and went out for our first restaurant meal in a long time tonight. ( with a.coupon!) I have had some great news recently too. I have accepted a job offer in Eas...

Grand Canyon Photos

Zion National Park, Utah

Hello! :-) Well we set off yesterday towards Zion National Park. Arrived in the late afternoon and found somwhere to set up camp. Today we had an early breakfast and set off to explore the park as we want to head out this afternoon. I am writing this as we wait for our laundry before leaving (3pm).  There are many hikes to choose from around the park, we chose the emerald pool trail.  This afternoon we are headed toward Bryce Canyon National Park..yip another one!!! We actually purchased a National Park Pass earlier in our holiday which is valid for a year so we are trying to make the most of it! It's very easy to find free places to stay around the parks and they are also very beautiful! We'll probably stay for a day or two before heading to Colorado and out of the parks for a bit. Love you all. It's great hearing and seeing what everyone is up to through Facebook  and emails. Talk soon xxx Grace (and Theo of course)
