Safe arrival in Hanoi

We arrived safely in Hanoi this morning:-) A very busy city, so many tooting scooters! Although we are getting very used to that by now. The most frustrating thing around South East Asia is that there are no footpaths, so you are constantly dodging vehicles!!

Here I am wearing long pants and a cardigan for the first time in months! It was only 17 degrees here today, and even slightly rained this afternoon.

We went to a booking office and booked a bus and boat tomorrow to Cat Ba Island. We have been told it is cheaper to purchase Halong Bay tours from Cat Ba rather than here, as the booking offices often have scams. We will spend a couple of nights on Cat Ba and find a day tour around Halong Bay. We looked into Halong Bay cruises which are very popular but quite expensive to stay on the boat.

I couldn't resist not taking a snap of this very cute entrance to a classroom right in the centre of the city! :-)

Looking forward to Cat Ba and Halong Bay!!

Playing it safe with his tuna roll..

Hello :-)

Hello Everyone! Sorry we have been away from the computer the last few days! Both Theo and I have been unwell with a bad tummy bug :-S We were trapped in our Bangkok accommodation for about three days! Luckily we were able to do some exploring before and after all of this, and we are now at the airport heading to Chiang Mai for the week. Bangkok has been pretty chaotic, we started out just off Khaosan Road which is the backpackers central. In his element ordering Thai street food (Probably what made him sick !!) We then moved to a quieter area but still close to everything. We took the boat ferry for 14 Baht each ( 60 cents ) to the Grand Palace. What a beautiful place! But as usual, packed with tourists! On the boat taxi We saw a Symphony Orchestra in the park More updates to come. Miss and love you all xxx

$1 Camper!

Hi all! Yesterday we picked up our $1 a day relocation camper from Las Vegas..we have four days in this lovely beast and we are driving it to Denver Colorado. There's a lot more room than our dodge caravan that's for sure! It's got a full sized shower, toilet, kitchen with fridge, oven , microwave. It even extends out once parked to make more room! We fly out of Denver on the 13th to Washington DC for a few days or so. We'll then head to New York. :-) Everything is swell!  Woohoo! Super excited! Breakfast this morning made by the fabulous Grace
