Barcelona

Barcelona has been and gone.

We had two full days in Barcelona and it was HOT! It was over 30 degrees. We spent the first day at the beach and we visited Park Guell the next day - along with alot of walking.

Our accommodation was fine. A private room in an airbnb, it was a lovely wife and husband with a little girl. It's always a little awkward being in another person's home, but they were very welcoming and it seemed like Patricia really enjoyed being a host. They made us breakfast every morning too which was lovely.

We found that it was quite difficult in Barcelona with reading restaurant menu's and signs around the city as very few of them were translated into English .
Overall, we enjoyed Barcelona but it doesn't top Amsterdam!
Our plane to Paris was delayed by three hours at Barcelona airport so there was a lot of waiting around. We met a very nice family who were waiting for the same plane as us. They were American but had lived in Havelock North, NZ for a few years a couple of years ago. We gave their two children some cards to play with before they went crazy waiting around.
I will post an update of Paris soon!

Made it to Phuket

Hi all:-) just a post to let you know we have arrived in Phuket. We are now researching into where to go from here! We think we will travel to Koh Phi Phi island today ( very famous from the movie 'The Beach' with Leonardo DiCaprio). Food market lastnight was amazing! With love <3 Grace

Calungute, Goa

We are feeling much better about life in India this week. One night at Vailannkani Guest House turned into six nights. The cleanliness and comfort was just what we needed. This week has consisted mainly of walking the markets, eating, playing cards on the beach, eating some more and exercising. Even though it is the monsoon season here it really doesn't rain that often. A dark, gloomy cloud will once or twice bucket down for five minutes and then it will be over. We have decided to venture to North India for a week and have booked flights for tomorrow to Jaipur in Rajasthan, from there we will go to Udaipur and on the 2nd of September we fly to Kerala. We hope all is well with everyone back home. Love and miss you all. xxx G & T Baga Beach Our lady of Piety Chapel Local fruit.veg shop - 90p/$1.70 for cabbage, capsicum, 7 bananas and 5 tomatoes Walking from Calangute Beach to Baga Beach Baga Beach Local restaurants on the beac...

Pai :-)

We thought we loved Chiang Mai but we have totally fallen for Pai!! Today we were up at 7am. A difficult task these days. Headed to Pai. The road, we were told, can be very dangerous. Checked out the minivan option..heard only horror stories of crazy bus drivers, people fearing for their lives, and vomit. Hmmm. So we decided to take it on ourselves!! Hired the scooter for some extra days. Chucked our bags into a minivan (they took them to Pai for us-very handy!) and off we went!  We were very happy with our decision to drive the road ourselves, as we got to see the most stunning scenic views. Something you would not be able to see in a winding minibus. It took us a little longer than five hours to get to Pai. Pai is a lovely, relaxed little town. We are staying in a gorgeous little bungalow about ten minutes from the centre of town. The gardens are beautiful!
