Travel updates - Amsterdam

Hello all :-)
I have decided that I will start updating you all through  this blog again as it makes it nice and easy and is also a nice recount to look back at.
We are currently at Amsterdam airport, our flight leaves at 7.10pm for Barcelona. We have had a lovely time in Amsterdam. We stayed three nights at the Amsterdam Forest Hotel in Amsterveen. About 30 minutes from the city via bus. We thought we got a pretty good deal staying just outside of the city as we were able to see the normal daily lives of the people here as well as the tourist centre in the city. Amsterveen was absolutely beautiful, quiet and serene. With small canals weaving their way through the roads. Everyone rides bikes here. There are bike paths that are especially for them, so the roads are actually very quiet, apart from buses. No one wears helmets either which is funny because there are bikes everywhere with children hanging off them. Parents with younger children even have long bikes with carriages at the front and the children sit inside them.
We spent the day with my friend Sarita who was coincidentally in Amsterdam for the beginning of her Europe trip. We went on a canal tour which was very nice and informative about Amsterdam's history.

Our week in the campervan in Ireland was also wonderful. I would have to say that the Irish people were the most friendliest, accommodating people that we have come across whilst travelling. We spent most of our time driving and exploring the Ring of Kerry and the Killarney National Park. I will put some photo's on later.
We are staying in a private Airbnb room in Barcelona for the next three nights. Fingers crossed it's an okay place!
Will update you all again soon xxxx

Chiang Mai

We spent the day at Huay Tung Tao lake in Chiang Mai yesterday. What a gorgeous wee spot. No tourists. Just a few locals and their children floating around. There's a whole lot of these little huts (pictured) all around the lake with a couple of local restaurants attached. A lovely day relaxing and reading in the sun :-)  On Wednesday we ventured up into the Doi Suthep Poi National Park on the scooter. We found a beautiful temple ( not surprising!) in a very cute mountain village. Most people were visiting the temple and then heading back down the mountain..(as many people take small buses or Tuk tuks). We decided to head further up to see what we could find. Came across the most beautiful little village called Doi Pui. At the highest point of the mountain.. It was the most gorgeous wee village with beautiful flower gardens and a small waterfall. Well worth the extra drive!!  Hope everyone is well back in New Zealand. We do miss you!! Xx Grace

Hello :-)

Hello Everyone! Sorry we have been away from the computer the last few days! Both Theo and I have been unwell with a bad tummy bug :-S We were trapped in our Bangkok accommodation for about three days! Luckily we were able to do some exploring before and after all of this, and we are now at the airport heading to Chiang Mai for the week. Bangkok has been pretty chaotic, we started out just off Khaosan Road which is the backpackers central. In his element ordering Thai street food (Probably what made him sick !!) We then moved to a quieter area but still close to everything. We took the boat ferry for 14 Baht each ( 60 cents ) to the Grand Palace. What a beautiful place! But as usual, packed with tourists! On the boat taxi We saw a Symphony Orchestra in the park More updates to come. Miss and love you all xxx
